Coastal SIG AGM 2015

The LGA Coastal SIG field trips and AGM will take place in Blackpool between 30 June – 2 July.

As well as helping to direct the future of the group, members will be able to hear more about the large regeneration that has taken place across Blackpool in the last ten years to transform it into a family friendly coastal resort where over 10 million adult visitors come every year. Partnering public sector investment with private sector operators has seen a huge renovation to the famous Blackpool Tower, as well as rejuvenating popular tourist assets to increase visitor figures and satisfaction rates, all to boost the local economy and jobs.

In addition to focusing on regeneration, delegates will also be able to see how Blackpool Council has worked with other nearby authorities to protect local residents, by forming a ground-breaking partnership which has successfully bid for millions of pounds to build new flood defences and improve the quality of bathing waters and beaches.

A booking form and delegate pack will be circulated to the current distribution list very soon. However in the mean time if you would like to know more, or to register your interest please contact Lucy on 01394 444552 or email lucy.williams@eastsuffolk.gov.uk
